The nation has held its breath (or, at least, tuned into Facebook Live and YouTube) waiting for April the giraffe to give birth last week at Animal Adventure Park. We're still waiting.
In the meantime, a South Carolina photographer saw the opportunity for parody and went live with a pregnancy watch of her own on Sunday night. Of course, she wore a giraffe mask.
In the video, Dietrich doesn't say anything or do much besides pace, which makes the parody all the more accurate.
Here's a recap of her live feed.
Clearly we live an exciting life over here in the Dietrich household.
Dietrich's video got more than 8 million views as of about 11 a.m. Monday. The Charlotte Observer reports she is 39 weeks pregnant, and her baby is due March 14.
In the meantime, a giraffe did give birth in a U.S. zoo. But it wasn't April, but Kipele in the Denver Zoo, who gave birth to Dobby last week, CBS Denver reports.
WATCH | April's pregnancy livestream was originally posted on YouTube, but it was taken down due after animal activists flagged the video as sexually explicit due to nudity. YouTube reversed its decision the next day after negative feedback rolled in.
