WATCH | The Nintendo Switch has just been released today. As a promotion for the console, Nintendo hosted an event in New York for the public to try it out.
The event itself took place at Flatiron Plaza by Madison Square Garden. To showcase the fact that the Switch can be played essentially anywhere, they set up a pop-up booth as a means of attracting people to enter.
WATCH | The event itself was free, and allowed consumers who were interested in the product to give it a test run before making the purchase. With a large variety of games already released with the console, there was a lot to be excited about, especially with giveaways at the booth.
This is one of multiple venues where has or will take place. Nintendo also hosted other events such as this in Snowmass Village, Colorado and Santa Clarita, California, and will continue to have trials for others to take part in Los Angeles, Boston, and SXSW at Austin.
The console itself is in very high demand, with pre-orders completely sold out in a matter of weeks and limited numbers stocked in retailers. Nintendo does plan to ship out around 2 million more consoles in the week to make it available to whoever wants one.
