President Trump criticized the FBI Friday for failing to stop national security information from being leaked to the press
This comes amid news reports that his chief of staff asked the bureau to "knock down" stories about investigations into possible contact between Trump officials and Russian officials during the election.
"The FBI is totally unable to stop the national security 'leakers' that have permeated our government for a long time." Trump tweeted.

He said officials "can't even find the leakers within the FBI itself."

Trump's tweets came after CNN and the Associated Press Friday reported that White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus asked Andrew McCabe, the FBI deputy director, to deny media reports that communications between Donald Trump's associates and Russians known to US intelligence during the 2016 presidential campaign.
As of Friday morning, the FBI had not commented publicly on the report.
