When Vice President Pence spoke to the European Union Council on Monday, a photo showed the American flag next to the EU flag.
But there was a bit of a problem with the flag. It had 51 stars instead of 50.
Instead of nine alternating rows of five or six stars, the flag had three rows of nine stars and three rows of eight stars. But at least it had 13 stripes like it's supposed to.
The EU did not respond to the Associated Press's request for comment.
Take a good look at the flag in this photo.
At least one observer on Twitter caught the mistake.
