Weddings can get quite pricey and it's always a challenge to find a gift newlyweds will find useful. Domino's Pizza is hoping to capitalize upon that with a wedding registry where couples can ask for a pie before, during or after the wedding. That is, if you want to associate the most important day of your life with a national pizza chain.
Domino's Wedding Registry functions like a regular ol' registry in that couples create an online profile with items they desire.
Every order comes with a typical Domino's gift card (yeah they're not catering your wedding or anything) but containing taglines such as "2 a.m. Bachelor Party Feast" or "One More Slice Before I Do."
Gift cards range from $15 to $100 and wedding guests are able to print to hand in person or send online. The reality is not as glorious an affair as their marketing site presents but it has seen huge pickup from news orgs, most likely thanks to the campaign's launch immediately prior to National Pizza Pie Day, when media companies are out for pizza stories in droves.
"We hear often from customers that Domino's was a part of their big day, from proposals to after-hours meals at their wedding," Jenny Fouracre, Domino's spokesperson, stated.
"We wanted to make it easier for people to ask for and receive something that they'll really use."
