Stager was caught Wednesday in Washington, D.C., The Washington Post reports.
U.S. Marshals are seeking public help to find a convicted sex offender who did not check into a transition center after he was released from prison.
Matthew Stager, 45, was last seen in Petersburg, Va. after he was released from prison. His current whereabouts are unknown, according to our Sinclar Broadcast Group partners.
Stager was supposed to report to a "transitional center" in Del Valle, Texas on Feb. 2, but never showed up. Marshals said he has a history of drug abuse and mental health issues.
