Former President Barack Obama is in the middle of a long-promised vacation.
And new photos show he's been having a great time. Virgin snagged photos of him kite-surfing with billionaire Sir Richard Branson near Necker Island, part of the U.S. Virgin Islands that Branson owns.
WATCH | There's even a video of the two kite-surfing. Or at least trying to kite-surf.

Here's another look at Virgin's photos of the hangout.
Being the former president of America, there was lots of security around, but Barack was able to really relax and get into it.
Obama told Branson his security team told him before his inauguration, "This will be the last time you surf for eight years." So naturally, he was excited to hit the water again.
"Barack started learning to kitesurf ... for two days solid," Branson wrote.

Obama's casual attitude on vacation hasn't gone unnoticed. Remember this hat?
