Some unlucky Patriots fans got a newspaper saying the Falcons won the Super Bowl

Sometimes newspapers get the story wrong because they have to meet early deadlines. And sometimes the story gets as wrong as it can possibly be.

The Boston Globe's early edition said the Atlanta Falcons beat the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl. The early edition, delivered to homes in Florida (since many New Englanders move to Florida later in life) and perhaps other places, was finished when the Falcons had a commanding 28-3 lead. 

Of course, editors didn't account for the Patriots' record-breaking comeback

Here's how the early edition looked.

It was a misfire of "Dewey Beats Truman" proportions.

Some were quick to call the story "fake news."

The early edition may become an instant collectors' item, given the Patriots' historic win.
