About 70 high school students in Houston threw up the Nazi salute during class picture day

Distasteful photos showing students throwing up what appears to be the Nazi salute have been making their way around social media, according to KPRC Channel 2. One witness, who asked to remain anonymous, said a group of students from Cypress Ranch High School in Houston, Texas, made the gesture while posing for a senior class photo.

The witness also said it appeared that 70 or so students engaged in the inappropriate behavior while shouting "Heil Hitler" and "Heil Trump."

It was pretty terrifying

In light of the circulating images, the principal sent a letter home to parents, outlining what had occurred and what steps are being taken.

"This is extremely disappointing as this is not an accurate representation of our student body," the letter read. "We are currently conducting an investigation and those implicated will be punished according to the Student Code of Conduct. We ask that you talk to your students regarding the posting and sharing of negative social media as this perpetuates a false image of Cy Ranch HS."
