In a move right out of the dystopian novel "Fahrenheit 451," Harry Potter fans are taking a torch to their iconic series in response to J.K. Rowling's anti-Trump rhetoric.
Rowling, though, isn't backing down. Her responses to Trump internet trolls are witty and snarky. She even concealed the Twitter handles, assumably to refrain from promoting the person's cause.
Be wary of the toxic fumes.
In light of the blowback, supporters have rushed to Rowling's defense.
I'd just like to thank everyone sending me lovely messages, which greatly outnumber the bad ones 😘 I'm now off to produce more kindling...— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) February 1, 2017
This isn't the first time that Rowling's books have been torched. Christian groups organized mass Potter burns in 2001, claiming the novels were satanic, according to Entertainment Weekly.
