A crafty Kansas teen turned his locker into a soda vending machine

Watch| A high school student in Kansas has transformed his locker into a soda vending machine called the 'Soda Locker.'

I think most of it was a novelty... that you're buying a pop from a vending machine inside of a locker.
Blake Hawkins, Soda Locker inventor

Blake Hawkins says he loves to build things and really wanted to challenge himself to see if he could build a mico vending machine. The locker sells Dr. Pepper and Mountain Dew for 75 cents and dispenses each cold soda at the bottom of the locker. Word spread quickly about his new invention and he's been selling six cans between classes.

Although his 'Soda Locker' had to be shut down ( it violated school rules) school administrators were impressed with Hawkins' invention. One school official even snapchatted the 'Soda Locker' to send to friends.

Hawkins' school is now thinking of using his 'Soda Locker" as a way to support school programs.
