Attending a Super Bowl in person might be a special treat, but not everyone has the spare cash to go. Ticket prices have increased from $2,700 to $3,100 since the beginning of the week on StubHub. That's a trend that isn't likely to change either, due to the fact that ticket availability for the game is the lowest it's been in years, as USA Today notes via TicketIQ

The cost of going to the NFL's marquis event isn't solely based on tickets either. Other things that need to be budgeted for include travel costs, like airfare and rental cars, lodging and concessions. With everything added up, you could be looking at around $3,500 total for the trip, and that would be on the more inexpensive side. Considering all of this, one can't help but wonder if going to the Super Bowl is even worth it, considering that for around $3,100, it would actually be cheaper to build your own home theater to watch the game, according to Digital Trends

Whether you'll be attending the game this year, or simply watching it somewhere, the final act of the NFL season promises to be a good one. Enjoy the game.
