Jessica Runions disappeared in September and ever since, her family and other loved ones have gathered to scour Kansas City, Missouri for clues.
In the past two weeks, Runions's family has spent hours searching secluded areas of the city and in the process, they've discovered the bodies of other missing people.
Natalie Charles, the fiancè of Runions' father told The Washington Post that the discoveries have given them hope.
The first body they found belonged to Brandon Herring, a man who went missing in November 2016 just before his girlfriend gave birth.
Herring's family found signs of what appeared to be a shootout during an impromptu search of an area where a friend reported seeing him before his disappearance. But his body wasn't located until Jan. 21, when Runions' family searched a creek bed in Kansas City.
Seven days later, the family came across another body about 8-feet down an embankment. A police spokeswoman told The Washington Post that they are investigating it as a suspicious death, but have not released the name of the victim.
Runions' family said finding two bodies in a short amount of time must mean they are on the right track.
Authorities have not named a suspect in Jessica Runions's disappearance, but she was last seen leaving a party with Kylr Yust, who was described as a friend of her boyfriend's.
Yust has been charged with burning Runions's SUV, but not in her disappearance.
