A troll told actor Kal Penn he "didn't belong in this country."
Penn responded in the most charitable way possible. He started a crowdfunding page to raise money for Syrian refugees - all in the name of the troll. As of about 2 p.m. Eastern time, the page had raised about $270,000.
Specifically, the page is in the name of "The Dude Who Said I Don't Belong In America."

Here's Penn's first announcement.
We are better than the hateful people who tell us we don't belong...We will turn their bigotry, along with the President's, into love.
The "Designated Survivor" star's initial goal was $20,000 for the International Rescue Committee, which supports refugees. Clearly, he's far exceeded that goal.
$30,000! So much love. I'm raising the goal to 50k, let's get there! This is incredible. Thank you! 🇺🇸✌🏽 https://t.co/NOR5P48fBi pic.twitter.com/PjbSrW2I1S
