After 14 years as the Boston Red Sox's first baseman, David Ortiz's No. 34 uniform is set to retire on June 23.
Ortiz hit 483 of his 541 career home runs before retiring after the 2016 season, USA Today reported. Known as "Big Papi," Ortiz won three World Series with the Red Sox, in 2004, 2007 and 2013.
Ortiz will become the 10th Red Sox player to have his number retired. Last season, the Red Sox retired Wade Bogg's No. 26, and Pedro Martinez's No. 45 in 2015.
