History of a quirky dessert
Nick Morgenstern, owner of Morgenstern's Finest Ice Cream, created the dessert in collaboration with Brutal Magazine for its Brutal Breakfast series in 2015.
We were feeling that avocado ice cream had gotten kind of tired. There's avocado toast everywhere all the time, so we kind of thought of it as a joke and it became very popular.
The ingredients are simple:
- Lightly toasted Japanese white bread (a.k.a. Shokupan)
- Avocado ice cream
- Condensed milk
- Olive oil
- Salt and pepper
Make sure you set your alarm: The dessert is only available from 8 a.m. to noon.
