A group of snowmobilers found a horse stuck on Boulder Mountain in McCall, Idaho, Tuesday morning. Naturally, Ryan Miller and his friends managed to keep the horse alive as a helicopter came to rescue it, according to our partners at KBOI.
Rescuer Ryan Miller says the extreme winter weather prevented any rescue attempts for about five days, so he and his friend hauled feed and water up the mountain until crews were able to come help.
In the miraculous video posted to Miller’s Facebook page, the helicopter drops a rope to rescuers on the ground, who attached it to the horse’s harness. With the help of Idaho Horse Rescue and Salmon River Helicopters, they were able to tranquilize the horse and safely lift him out of the snow.

The horse was in bad shape but is expected to make a full recovery, Idaho Horse Rescue said.
Unfortunately, another horse lost on the mountain has not been found, the Valley County Sheriff's Office said.
The pilot was applauded for his rescue efforts in brutal conditions.
