The Polka King, starring actors Jack Black, Jenny Slate and Jason Schwartzman is based on a true story about a Polish immigrant who became the "King of Pennsylvania Polka."
The comedic tragedy follows the rise and fall of Polka King legend Jan Lewan, who built his fortune by seducing fans into investing in the world's only known Polka Ponzi scheme.
Actors Jacki Weaver, Willie Garson, Vanessa Bayer and J.B Smoove also star in the film.
It's very rare you come across a character that you're like oh, I was born to play that part.
Born to do this role
Jack Black, who also co-produced the film, told Circa he was drawn to the role after watching "The Man Who Would Be Polka King," a documentary about Lewan.
"I just responded to the character honestly," he said.

Humans sometimes do bad things and that doesn't mean they're bad people.
Flaws and forgiveness
Actress Jenny Slate plays the Polka King's loving wife. Slate told Circa the film's big takeaway is that people, like Jan Lewis, will do bad things, but redemption is always around the corner.
Slate: "Humans sometimes do bad things and it doesn't mean that they are bad in their nature."
