Watch the ominous 'House of Cards' teaser that was released on Trump's inauguration day

Netflix released a teaser of its "House of Cards" season five premiere date just half an hour before President Donald Trump's inauguration.

In the 35-second video, children can be heard reciting the Pledge of Allegiance as the camera zooms out to show an upside down American flag waving in front of the United States capitol.

The Flag Code says that the American flag should only be displayed in this position in times when there is "extreme danger to life or property."

It would be quite the stretch to make an argument that any type of political purpose would constitute 'dire distress.'

The show's official Twitter account tweeted "We make the terror," along with the teaser.

That comment likely refers to the ending of season four, which ended with a hostage crisis. In the final episode, President Frank Underwood, who is played by Kevin Spacey, declared "We make the terror."

According to People magazine, the takeaway from this is that the Underwoods will certainly follow through on that promise during season five.

Season five premieres on Netflix May 30, 2017.
