WATCH | Who is Donald Trump?

Who is Donald Trump? He's the 45th president of the United States, but who  is the leader of the free world?

"I'm very rich," is one of the qualifiers he's used for himself, but others have said a lot about him too.

"This is a man who has called women pigs, slobs and dogs," is what Hillary Clinton has said.

Ask Ivanka Trump and she'll tell you "he's been an amazing parent."

Here's who his biography says he is.

Trump was born and raised in New York City, the same city that saw his career take off and his presidential victory speech.

Early years

Donald Trump was born in 1946 in Queens, New York, to a father who was a real estate developer and a migrant mother.

Equipped with a military school education and a degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a lot of ambition, Trump took over his father's business and quickly became a real estate mogul in New York.

After two marriages, he set his eyes and a ring on supermodel Melania Knauss in 2004.

The skyline shimmers, the music pulses and Donald Trump’s helicopter swoops in for a landing. Oozing authority, the billionaire strides purposefully, in slow-motion, for added impact, toward some important matter of business in “New York, my city,” as Trump calls it. TV success

That same year, he entered millions of American homes, hosting NBC's "The Apprentice" through 15 record-breaking seasons.

His story is mired with controversies, but also silver linings.

He's been the subject of various sexual assault allegations, spanning 30 years.

In 1973, the Dept. of Justice sued Trump for housing discrimination at his properties. Then, there was the Trump University scandal, where his for-profit school was operating as a "university" without an educational license.

Then in 2011, Trump fueled the "Birther Movement," which questioned Pres. Barack Obama's birthplace.

Silver linings

He's also had a lot of successes, particularly in the business realm. His Trump organization operates hotels, casinos and golf courses around the world.

Trump Productions is his production company, and he even had a bottled water brand at one point, Trump Ice.

His NBC show was so successful it inspired a spinoff, "The Celebrity Apprentice," also hosted by him.

Donald Trump was elected president of the United States of America in 2016.

Who he is now

All of this, business flops included, puts his current net worth at 3.7 billion (though it's difficult to know since he hasn't released his tax returns). And on November 9, 2016, Vice president-elect Mike Pence introduced him as:

"The next president of the United States of America, Donald Trump."
