Premier shopping channel Gun TV is pulled from the airwaves

After less than a year on the air, Gun TV--think QVC with guns--has pulled back on its operations, according to Valerie Castle, co-founder of the channel.

"This is a simple business decision we are confident we will be broadcasting again soon," Castle said.

The channel may have shut down, but it's not leaving the studio where it operates in Coachella Valley, California.

Gun TV is no longer accepting orders, the website noted.

The channel attracted scrutiny quickly. Plans for the shopping channel were revealed just a few weeks before two people stormed a complex in San Bernardino and killed 14 people. Many criticized the channel as "tone deaf and ill-timed," the Desert Sun reported.

Earlier this month, Gun TV said it looked forward to "having fun against with you this year!"
