President Obama will be out of a job soon. Spotify wants to fix that.
Founder and CEO Daniel Ek posted a job listing on Monday, offering Obama a job as the "President of Playlists."
Technically, anyone can apply, but one of the qualifications is "Have at least eight years experience running a highly-regarded nation."
Here's Ek's original announcement.
The qualifications are mostly jokes, including:
- "Anything from an eclectic summer playlist, to a celebratory, “I just found my birth certificate” playlist."
- "Have good relationships with a wide range of artists and musicians. Ever had Kendrick Lamar play at your birthday bash? We’d love to hear about it!"
- "Someone with good team spirit, excellent work ethic, a friendly and warm attitude, and a Nobel Peace Prize."
Spotify is a Swedish company. Obama told the U.S. ambassador to Sweden, "I'm still waiting for my job at Spotify" last week, the BBC reports.
Been waiting to drop this: summer playlist, the encore. What's everybody listening to? pic.twitter.com/mqh1YVrycj— President Obama (@POTUS44) August 11, 2016
Obama has been blessing Spotify with playlists since 2015.
WATCH (From 2016) | Obama has said after he leaves office, he'd like to own an NBA team or teach law. Rumors were floated that he'd become a Supreme Court justice, but Donald Trump's election win quashed those plans.
One day, he might have competition for the Spotify job.
