UPDATE 2:30 p.m. EST Jan. 10: Paris police updated the number of arrests in connection with the October jewelry heist to 17, according to WJLA.

Months after Kim Kardashian West was robbed in Paris, 16 people have been arrested in connection with the case.

French police said arrests started around 6 a.m. local time on Monday near Paris. The suspects can be held for 96 hours before police must charge them or release them.

This comes days after Kardashian spoke up about the robbery on "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" for the first time. She had been silent on social media since the robbery until last week.
