ISIS has claimed responsibility for suicide bombings in Baghdad that killed at least 23 people on Sunday.
One bomber blew his car up in a market in the Sadr City neighborhood, killing at least seven people and wounding 15 more. Brig. Gen. Saad Maan said soldiers had spotted the bomber and tried to stop him but failed.
In a separate attack, a bomber blew himself up at a market in a mostly Shiite neighborhood, killing nine people. Three more bombings killed a total of seven people.
