He drove backward to crush more people. That was really clear.
UPDATE 9:42 a.m. EST:
Newly uncovered security footage showed the Palestinian driver of a truck involved in a crash that killed four Israeli soldiers went into reverse after the initial crash, apparently trying to hit more people.
Israeli police said a truck crashed into a group of soldiers on Sunday, killing four and wounding at least 15, CNN reports.
Jerusalem police spokeswoman Luba Samri said soldiers had just gotten off a bus when the truck steered off course. The driver was shot and killed. Israel's foreign press spokesperson called the incident a "possible terrorist attack," CNN reports.
WATCH | This video from Channel 10 Israel (via CNN) shows the scene of the damages. A paramedic said 10 bodies were trapped under the truck. Israel police chief Roni Alsheich said the attacker was from an Arab neighborhood in east Jerusalem. No further details were available.
Images of a truck with bullet holes in the windshield quickly spread on Twitter.
We'll update this as soon as we know more.
