Speaker of the House Paul Ryan announced during a press conference on Thursday that Republicans would move to strip Planned Parenthood of all federal funding in their anticipated plan to repeal Obamacare, reports The Huffington Post.
“Planned Parenthood legislation would be in our reconciliation bill,” said Ryan.
Utilizing the reconciliation process allows Republicans to pass a bill via simple majority, instead of super majority, and keeps Democrats from filibustering in the Senate.
Republicans have routinely voted to defund Planned Parenthood, which is why Democrat leaders liked House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) isn't surprised by the move.
"I just would like to speak individually to women across America: This is about respect for you, for your judgment about your personal decisions in terms of your reproductive needs, the size and timing of your family, and the rest, not to be determined by the insurance company or by the Republican, ideological, right-wing caucus in the House of Representatives," said Pelosi.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) tweeted out in opposition to the idea.
Planned Parenthood isn't just for abortions. Planned Parenthood isn't just for abortions. Planned Parenthood isn't just for abortions.— Katie™ (@barakatie_) January 5, 2017
Many on Twitter took some time to remind those browsing that PP isn't just for abortions.
