Cinnabon is under fire for its Carrie Fisher tweet


The bakery chain Cinnabon is under fire for its Carrie Fisher tweet, which many considered to be in poor taste.  

Shortly after news of Fisher's death circulated, Cinnabon tweeted, "RIP Carrie Fisher, you’ll have always have the best buns in the galaxy,” referring to the side buns she wore during her role as Princess Leia in the Stars Wars series. 

The tweet has since been removed, but many Twitter users captured screen shots of it. 

Twitter users quickly criticized Cinnabon for the tweet. 

Others however, said the actress would have been ok with it. 

This isn't the first time the company used that same image of Princess Leia with cinnamon buns for a brand boost.

 In May, the company tweeted, "Here’s to the princess with the second-best rolls in the galaxy." 

Other corporations and brands have faced criticism in the past for similar blunders. Earlier this year when Prince died, Cheerios tweeted "Rest In Peace" with the company's logo over the i.
