Starbucks is giving away free drinks to spread holiday cheer


Starbucks is spreading holiday cheer with some freebies.

Starting at 1 p.m. Friday, 100 stores plan to host Pop-Up Cheer Parties, handing out free tall espresso drinks.

The parties will last through Jan. 2. Locations will change daily and will be listed here, Starbucks says.

The event will be held at 100 Starbucks stores in the U.S. per day. At least 1,000 parties will be hosted nationwide, Starbucks says.
