This is Caroline Kennedy. She is the U.S. Ambassador to Japan.
Japanese and Christmas collide
Kennedy posted this low-budget holiday greeting on Instagram on Tuesday. Amazingly, it has not been deleted.
The Japanese in the caption translates to "Have a happy new year #SantaClaus # MerryChristmas #Christmas."
This is not the only weird mishmash of Japanese and Christmas that Kennedy has posted to social media this year.
WATCH | In this one, Kennedy members of her staff perform the "Koi Dance," which comes from the popular Japanese TV show "We Married as a Job." It's even more awkward, but the human Christmas tree at 0:35 is the icing on the cake.
Meanwhile, the Koi dance has gone somewhat viral in Japan. It's a cute dance, I have to admit. pic.twitter.com/hTGI4FHDll

Here's the original Koi dance.

After tweeting out the Koi Dance video, Kennedy's more serious tweets seemed oddly off-putting.
