A Georgia man was killed after shooting at police and wounding 2 officers


A man accused of shooting at two Georgia police officers early Monday morning was shot and killed in a shootout, according to the state Bureau of Investigation.

Officers were serving a drug warrant on a home in Crawford County. After they walked through the door, two officers were shot and wounded. Both were hospitalized; one has left the hospital and the other is still recovering from non-life-threatening injuries. 

The suspect was killed in a shootout with police. He has not been publicly identified.

Earlier this month,  two officer were shot and killed in Americus, Georgia. The shooter, Minguell Kennedy Lembrick, also died in that incident.
