A college student who recorded a professor's anti-Trump speech could be expelled

Orange Coast College student Josh Recalde-Martinez may be facing legal action after he taped a professor named Olga Perez Stable Cox making an impassioned anti-Donald Trump speech during one of her classes without her permission, reports KCAL

Cox said that Trump's election was an "act of terrorism."

“One of the most frightening things for me, and most people in my life, is that the people who are committing the assault are among us,” continued Cox.

Recalde-Martinez took the recording he made and posted it to his Facebook page where it garnered thousands of views and hundreds of comments.

On Thursday, the professor's union wrote a post on its page that condemned Recalde-Martinez's actions, saying, "This is an illegal recording without the permission of the instructor. The student will be identified and may be facing legal action."

“At this point it’s not even education anymore, its indoctrination,” said Recalde-Martinez, who is a member of Orange Coast College's Young Republicans Club.

The club filed a complaint about Cox's speech.

An anonymous student posted a review of Cox on Ratemyprofessor.com in the wake of her speech.

“I felt censored and bullied if I did not agree with her opinions,” the student wrote.

The story has many on social media up in arms.
