This little boy's Christmas wish is to get a new kidney. Let's make that happen.

Watch| While many little boys would wish for toys, a little boy in Merced, California is wishing for a new kidney for Christmas this year. Jayce Valencia has kidney disease and is looking for a donor

He's on dialysis for 14 hours a day, every day. He's on a feeding pump for about 20 hours a day. He's never been able to take a real bath.

The 17-month-old loves to dance and make people laugh but from first glance you would never know what little Jayce must go through every day.

Jayce has kidney disease and has been in and out of the hospital since the day he was born.

"His umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck a few times and he was pronounced dead," said Padilla. That's why his mom says he's a miracle.

“He had to get multiple blood transfusions at birth,” said Padilla.

Jayce's mother says his kidneys don't work at all and now he needs a transplant - not just any transplant - but a living kidney donor.

"It's hurtful that my son has to be fed through a feeding tube, that he's stuck to a machine, that he can't take a bath. That he can never play football," said Padilla. Prospective donors must have an 'O" blood type, be in good health and have medical insurance. Jayce is on the transplant list but it could take months or years for him receive a kidney.

I'm just praying that we get my son's hero and get him the one kidney that he needs

"He's so strong, for such a little body, he's so strong, I’ve never met anyone as strong as him," said Padilla. She says that someone so small gives her so much hope which is why even after countless doctor visits and hospital stays, little Jayce can wake up every day with a smile and she can keep the faith that this will be the 2nd of many Christmases to come.

She says people have tried to donate before but it didn't work out because either they weren't a match or in great shape. She still hopes someone will come forward, urging others to not take their lives for granted.
