A man who confessed to killing NFL star Joe McKnight was charged with manslaughter

The man who confessed to shooting and killing former NFL star Joe McKnight in Louisiana was arrested and charged with manslaughter.

Ronald Gasser, 54, was arrested late Monday.

McKnight, a former running back for the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs, was shot and killed in what Jefferson Parish Sheriff's deputies described as a road rage incident last week. Gasser was released from police custody last week without being formally charged.

This photo shows Gasser.

Rumors had previously circulated that Gasser stood over McKnight and shot him repeatedly.
