As expected, Beyoncé and Adele are among the stars nominated for Grammy Awards in major categories. Tuesday's episode of "CBS This Morning" announced the nominees for Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best New Artist.

Here's who's up for Album of the Year:

  • Beyoncé, "Lemonade"
  • Justin Bieber, "Purpose"
  • Drake, "Views"
  • Sturgill Simpson, "A Sailor's Guide to Earth"

Beyoncé leads with nine nominations; Drake, Rihanna and Kanye West have eight apiece.

Song Of The Year Nominees | The 59th GRAMMYs

Here are the nominees for Song of the Year:

  • Adele, "Hello"
  • Justin Bieber, "Love Yourself"
  • Beyoncé, "Formation"
  • Lukas Graham, "7 Years"
  • Mike Posner, "I Took A Pill In Ibiza"
Record Of The Year Nominees | The 59th GRAMMYs

Here are the nominees for Record of the Year:

  • Adele, "Hello"
  • Beyoncé, "Formation"
  • Lukas Graham, "7 Years"
  • Rihanna feat. Drake, "Work"
  • Twenty One Pilots, "Stressed Out"

Among the names missing from those major categories: David Bowie, Radiohead and Solange.

Some Twitter users were vexed by Simpson's album nod and believed it to be at Bowie's expense.

Others defended Simpson as an artist whose nomination was "well deserved."

Still others lamented Grammy voters who favored Bieber over Bowie, who died in January.

Bowie's "Blackstar" album is nominated for just one Grammy (for Best Alternative Music Album).

Best New Artist Nominees | The 59th GRAMMYs

And here are the nominees for Best New Artist, which sometimes has been a kiss of death for up-and-comers:

  • Kelsea Ballerini
  • The Chainsmokers
  • Chance the Rapper
  • Maren Morris
  • Anderson .Paak

A psyched Ballerini went the all-caps route on Twitter: "MOM [I'M] GOING TO THE GRAMMYS."

The Chainsmokers celebrated their good news with fellow customers at a Dunkin' Donuts.

And crossover country star Maren Morris was all "SHOOK" up by her good fortune.
