WATCH | The holiday season is in full swing and shipping costs are creeping higher.
Holiday shopping has officially kicked into high gear -- but you knew that because you've already got something for everyone on your list, right?
But, if you haven't, and you plan to shop online, you might want to do so soon. And it's not because there are only 19 shopping days until Christmas.
Why?

Shipping costs typically creep up after Cyber Monday and this year is no exception.
According to Adobe Digital Insights, shipping costs are currently up 10 percent from last year. They predict those costs to really jump two weeks before the Christmas holiday on December 12 and then nearly triple from Thanksgiving prices a week later on December 19, reaching $4.45 per order.
For comparison, prior to Cyber Monday, shipping prices had been on average $2.30 per order. That's 5 percent lower from a year ago.

On Cyber Monday this year, consumers spent a record $3.45 billion online shopping.

Since November 1, holiday shoppers have spent $52 billion online, and Adobe forecasts consumers to bring in another $39 billion before the season ends.

This means retailers expect procrastinators to start scouring the web for stocking stuffers. But if you want to avoid paying hundreds in overnight shipping, you might want to grab your laptop now.
