President-elect Donald Trump held his first post-election rally in Cincinnati, Ohio on Thursday night and was his typical confident self.
The real estate mogul covered a wide variety of topics on everything from the media, to Obamacare, veterans, and his cabinet.
Trump and the Media
All Trump had to do was mention the media and the room erupted into a chorus of boos. Trump called the media "dishonest," a hallmark of his campaign.
Trump also blasted ABC's Martha Raddatz for how she reacted to the news that he had been elected.
"How about when a major anchor, who hosted a debate, started crying when she realized we won," Trump said of Raddatz.
Trump and the Cabinet
During his rally, Trump formally confirmed that he would be appointing former Marine Gen. James Mattis.
"I will not tell you that one of our great, great generals ... We are going to appoint 'Mad Dog' Mattis as our secretary of defense."
Trump also said that the formal announcement of Mattis' appointment will be made next week.
Trump and Obamacare
Despite saying he would think about keeping pieces of the Affordable Care Act in the wake of his meeting with President Obama at the White House, Trump reiterated a promise he made on the campaign trail many times.
"And by the way, we are repealing and replacing Obamacare."
Trump claims the world will "respect us again" despite the fact that under Obama respect for the U.S. is high while the world loathes Trump.— Joy Reid (@JoyAnnReid) December 2, 2016
Trump's talking points sparked a lot of discussion on social media.
I won't watch a single goddamn Trump rally, speech, press conference, interview. SOTU address. Nada. Zip. Zilch.— Laura (@SheWhoVotes) December 2, 2016
Starve the beast!
Others online said they purposely skipped the president-elect's speech.
