Airplane mode? No prob. Netflix will now allow downloads for (some of) your favorite shows

Netflix announced Wednesday morning it would let users download shows, to watch offline without the need to stream over WiFi.

A "download" button will appear on the iOS and Android apps, letting users watch the show when streaming isn't available or convenient.

However, not everything on Netflix is available for download. Netflix didn't specify in the press release,  but it appears limited to Netflix original shows like "Orange is the New Black" and "Narcos."

The download feature will look like this.

Here's Netflix's announcement video.

Unsurprisingly, people were very happy about this.

Or, at least, excited.

Netflix's competitor, Amazon Prime Video, also allows offline viewing, but only for specific time periods.

Hulu does not offer offline viewing natively.
