Three California mosques are on high alert after being sent a threatening letter

Islamic leaders in California are asking for increased police protection after three local Mosques received a version of the same letter that threatens Muslims and praises President-elect Donald Trump, reports OC Register

The letter refers to Muslims as the "Children of Satan," "vile," "filthy," and "evil." The letter also states that Trump is going to "cleanse America."

The mosques are located in Long Beach, Claremont, and San Jose.

A picture of the letter has been circulated through social media.

He’s going to do to you Muslims what Hitler did to the Jews.

"You Muslims would be wise to pack your bags and get out of Dodge," reads the letter, which is signed "Americans for a Better Way."

The letter is the latest in a long string of incidents targeting Muslims and other minorities in the wake of Republican candidate Donald Trump's election to the presidency.

The Council on America-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is a D-based civil rights organizations that has recorded more than 100 anti-Muslim attacks since Nov. 8.

CAIR has called for an increased police presence around mosques and has also asked Islamic organizations in America to take extra security precautions.
