A plane made an emergency landing on a Mississippi highway

Neshoba County Sheriff Tommy Waddell says a plane made an emergency landing on Highway 21, about two miles north of Philadelphia, Mississippi, reports WCBI

The pilot was on his way to Birmingham to pick up some passengers when the engine died after takeoff.

Waddell says the owner of the plane, who lives in Louisiana, was in Philadelphia for the holiday.

No one on the plane or on the highway was injured, but the wings of the plane were damaged by a street sign.
