The body of a woman who raised the alarm has been found. She had been bound and gagged. Reports indicate she was killed with a knife.
A unit of the GIGN tactical support group is responding to the scene. The gunman is still at large.
A hooded gunman has stormed into a retirement home for monks in France, reports The Daily Mirror.
The community, operated by the Society of African Missions, is located near the city of Montpellier. Around 70 monks are believed to reside on the property.
It's unknown if shots have been fired. The gunman is still believed to be on the premises.
