Tom Hanks is known for surprising his fans, but a photographer who knew she would cross paths with the actor while on assignment just got the nicest surprise of them all.
Just before Denise Esposito headed off to Rome, she heard Hanks was going to be there at the same time for a film festival, according to SFGate. So, the artist decided to fill a sketchbook with drawings from his movies.
When the book of drawings got to Hanks, he asked to meet her so he could thank her in person.
As if meeting Oscar-winning actor wasn't enough, he also sent her a Royal typewriter with a note.
"For your lovely book of sketches of -- all -- those movies," it read. "Here is a typewriter to do with whatever you need... Make more art! And many thanks..."
Esposito told ABC News Hanks even signed the typewriter.
Esposito told SFGate that the act of kindness just added to the list of reasons why Hanks is her favorite actor.
"He's real(ly) a source of inspiration, he's a wonderful human being," Esposito told SFGate.
