Today, President Obama pardoned the final two turkeys of his tenure as the leader of the free world. An oddly solemn occasion for some, but for the president, it was one of his last opportunities to trot out his famous sense of humor.
Obama treated the crowd and those watching to a slew of Thanksgiving-themed puns, causing even his two daughters to roll their eyes behind their father.
The president pardoned 'Tot the turkey' just after subjecting the crowd to a few jokes.
President Obama railed against family members who try and cut others at the table off from food, invoking the mantra of the hungry by saying, "Yes we cran."
When people in the audience began to groan, the president said, "I know this is the last time we're doing this, so we're not leaving any leftovers."
And on the subject of holiday travel, Obama lamented the crowding of cars on freeways, saying, "thanksgiving traffic puts people in a fowl mood."
