The dress Marilyn Monroe wore to sing "Happy Birthday" to JFK sold for nearly $5 million.

Monroe's iconic, form-fitting gown was sold for $4.8 million at an auction in Los Angeles Thursday to Ripley's Believe It or Not.

Julien's Auction said the actress wore the Hollywood designer Jean Louis creation flesh-colored and sparkling with over 2,500 hand-stitched crystals for an early 45th birthday celebration for President John F. Kennedy at New York's Madison Square Garden.
