Nick Gordon was ordered to pay $36 million to the estate of Bobbi Kristina Brown, the only child of the late Whitney Houston and singer Bobby Brown.
A judge on Thursday ruled that Gordon, 26, must pay any future earnings to Brown's estate. Gordon was not present in court the day of the ruling, according to the Associated Press.
The ruling comes two months after Gordon was found "legally responsible" for the death of his former girlfriend.
Gordon told reporters last year he'd promised Houston he'd take care of Brown.
Gordon's involvement in Brown's death
Brown's estate filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against Gordon last year, alleging he beat her up after a "cocaine and drinking binge."
The estate also claimed Gordon gave Brown a "toxic cocktail" that caused her to pass out.
Brown was found unresponsive in her bathtub on January 31, 2015. She remained in a coma until she died six months later from pneumonia, according to an autopsy report.
More on Brown's death
The court was unable to rule whether her death was "due to intentional or accidental causes."
Brown is buried at a cemetery in New Jersey next to her mother, who died in a similar way in 2012.
