You probably ran after an ice cream truck as a kid -- and chances are, you were looking for a Choco Taco. Now meet the inventor of your favorite ice cream novelty.
Tacos and ice cream? Yep
Alan Drazen has worked for the Jack & Jill Ice Cream Company in New Jersey since the 1980s. When the Mexican food market started taking off, Drazen saw the taco shape as a unique vehicle for the perfect ice cream sandwich.
It wasn't easy, at first -- one plant made the ice cream filling, and another across town in Green Bay, Wisconsin, made the unique taco-shaped cone. But today, you can easily find one in your local grocery or gas convenience store.
Alan Drazen, pictured here, could definitely be considered for the Pantheon of innovative ice cream makers.
It's that time for our intermission! Alan sings his rendition of the "Choco Taco" theme song, which he wrote in the 1980s.
