Cake and Art opened 40 years ago and earned celebrity fans like Lucille Ball and Jack Benny. It still holds on to its A-list clientele.  Owner Tom Rosa attributes that to mostly hiring bakers with art backgrounds, who he refers to as artists.

These cakes speak for themselves -- from brains, to sushi, to a zombie cake, there's a design to meet even the most unusual tastes.

We did the very first birthday cake for 'Star Wars.' George Lucas had us design it to honor the first anniversary.

Rosa says many people stop by and say they've heard of the store, but assume it's too expensive for them. He says anyone can buy a cake. "Our cakes start at $25 but can go up stratospheric when they're very very complicated." Plus, most of their work is last-minute, since that's how Hollywood rolls.
