Parents of students at a Michigan middle school are outraged after students chanted "build that wall" during lunch, reports WDIV

A video of the incident at Royal Oak Middle School made its rounds on social media and has been viewed over a million times.

"Build that wall," was a popular campaign refrain repeated by Donald Trump supporters and refers to the wall Trump has promised to build on the U.S. border with Mexico to keep out undocumented immigrants.

The video is short, but certainly had an impact.

Many have also pointed out the population in the school's area is predominately Democrat.

The school released a statement following backlash on social media and complaints from parents.

"Because of the strong emotions and intensity of rhetoric that the posting of this incident to social media has elicited, we have had families express concern regarding student safety. Know that we work with our partners in law enforcement on responding to any and all threats that have been or will be made involving our students or schools," read part of the statement.
