WATCH | Texas has been GOP red for decades and gave its Electoral College votes to Donald Trump on Tuesday. But the capital city of Austin is a vocal island of Democratic blue in that sea of red. On Wednesday, hundreds held a peaceful and coordinated protest against Trump's victory.
The protest was organized by Revolutionary Student Front, a group based at the University of Texas at Austin.
Some of the protesters were among the groups Trump targeted during his campaign.
They started on campus then walked south to the Texas State Capitol...
...blocking intersections and forming human chains to shut down bridges along the way.
The protest remained peaceful.
Police assisted by blocking traffic so protesters could walk the streets.
