Less than 24 hours after Donald Trump won the Electoral College, thousands took to the streets to protest a Trump presidency -- and more than a few celebrities joined them.

Celebrities have played a prominent role in this year's election, from Katy Perry's DNC convention performance to Dennis Rodman's strident support for Trump on Twitter.

Below are a few of the celebrities who joined last night's anti-Trump protests in New York City:

Lady Gaga spoke outside the Trump hotel opposite Central Park.

Here she is pictured wearing a "Love Trumps Hate" T-shirt alongside DJ Samantha Ronson.

Mark Ruffalo joined the protest at Trump Tower on 5th Avenue.

You can hear protestors shouting against Trump's proposed wall at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Madonna shared video on Instagram from NYC of what she called a "revolution of love."

Questlove also took to the streets of Manhattan.

Cher shared a tweet to her 3.16M followers about "hugging" protestors who had "spirit."
