Why is firebrand Ann Coulter trending on Twitter? This extremely nativist tweet.

So, conservative pundit Ann Coulter tweeted this last night.

The nativist and racist overtones were not lost on Twitter users.

Even Donald Trump wouldn't pass Coulter's test. His mother, Mary, was an immigrant.

And all of his children except Tiffany would be disqualified.

Coulter didn't apologize, but doubled-down when that was pointed out to her.

There are surprising links between Coulter's tweets and Nazi racial purity guidelines.

'Mixed-blood' purity test

To clarify, that tweet is referring to the Mischling Test, which was used to determine whether a citizen of Nazi Germany was considered a Jew or a "Mischling", German for "mixed-blood."

People were legally considered Jewish if they had a Jewish parent or grandparent, even if they did not identify as Jews.

And then Twitter got its jokes in...

...some of which were harsher than others.
